Something Understood - Translation

Mark Tully presents a programme on the theme of translation to mark Pentecost, when Jesus' disciples spoke in different tongues. He talks to Bible translator Father Nicholas King about the process of translating the New Testament: what is the most impossible passage? Does it matter if people find spiritual inspiration from texts which are actually mis-translations? The programme includes poems and thoughts on translation by Keats, A.S.Byatt, Eva Hoffman, Vesna Goldsworthy and Kei Miller.
