Andrew Collins takes a satirical romp through the day's news and events, to the perfect morning soundtrack for any music-lover; from northern soul to new folk; rock 'n' roll to indie disco. New tracks from the likes of Wild Beasts and Florence & The Machine delightfully wrap around your semi-conscious ears, along with the best of the greatest back catalogues on the planet; be they The Smiths, The Stones, The Clash or The Jam. Thursday also sees Andrew chatting with actor Domhnall Glesson who stars in the new BBC Two drama, When Harvey Met Bob. The 90 minute drama follows one of the most iconic moments in 20th-century history, Live Aid; the biggest televised international charity event in history. Domhnall Gleeson who has also stared in Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows) plays Bob Geldof who, inspired by a legendary BBC broadcast by Michael Buerk persuades a host of rock stars to give their name and talent for free to the Band Aid record - Do They Know It's Christmas? - which sells millions of copies. But when he goes to Ethiopia to ensure the proceeds from the record will reach the starving people, he realises that so much more needs to be done. He needs to raise even more money to fulfill his promise that every penny from the record will get there. It is at this point that he conceives the idea of a global music event to feed the world.
