Ruth is delighted when Gina agrees to have a night out with her, but her bubble soon bursts when Gina gets a call from Jo to say that she’s returning to Shieldinch, along with Nazir, Franco and baby Romeo. Thrilled at the prospect of having all her family back home, Gina sets about organising a welcome home party in the Oyster, cancelling her plans with a disappointed Ruth. Things go from bad to worse for Ruth when Gina assumes she is going to put them all up until they find somewhere permanent. She tries her best to swallow her anger but when she returns home to find that Gina has tidied her flat, and organised the bedrooms so that Jo and Nazir will be sleeping in her bedroom, and she is on a futon in Eilidh’s room, Ruth finally snaps - this is her flat after all! But Gina counters – could it be that Ruth is just jealous of her sister? Then Ruth gets caught up in Scott’s art class, she loses track of time and forgets pick up Jo and her family from the airport. An annoyed Gina spots Ruth and takes her to task before storming off. Then Gina receives a phone call – Jo and her family have been in an accident when the taxi they were using crashed into another car. Gina frantically heads to the hospital where she finds an injured Jo distressed and begging for news about Nazir and her boys. Gina has to break the news to a devastated Jo that Nazir has been killed in the accident, but Romeo looks like he’s ok. However Franco is still in surgery…. When Ruth arrives at the hospital it’s clear that Gina and Jo both blame her for the accident - and a devastated Ruth confides in Eileen that she blames herself too. Franco comes out of surgery and it looks like things are going to be ok, but then a complication arises - the doctor breaks the terrible news to Gina that Franco has died. Gina turns on an ashen-faced Ruth and demands that she goes in and breaks the news to Jo. Ruth gives Jo the terrible news and tries to comfort her, but Jo turns away making it clear that as far as she is concerned, she is no longer her sister. Realising that his dad blames him for everything, a distraught Ewan tries to get Nicki to reveal the whereabouts of Lydia and Amber in order to win his way back into Lenny’s affections. Nicki remains true to her friend and says nothing but Ewan’s desperate pleas move Deek to tell Ewan where they are staying - much to Nicki’s annoyance. Ewan takes the information to Lenny but Lenny has another go at him and throws Ewan out of the house. A dejected Ewan leaves, but not before leaving the info for his dad. Alone in the house, Lenny now knows exactly where his wife and daughter have gone, but he’s not sure what to do about it… Raymond confides in Scott that he’s not sure he’s able to make ‘Carly’s Café’ a fitting tribute to Shona. So, inspired by his previous conversation with Robbie, Scott suggests that he takes over as manager and pitches his idea of making the space into an ‘arts café’ where charity events could be held to raise money, in memory of Shona. Raymond is very interested, and a happy Scott heads off to arrange a launch event with Ruth’s help. When Deek spots Scott talking to one of his suppliers – who happens to be very attractive – he assumes she is the model for the art class and immediately signs up. When the word spreads that the class will feature a naked model some of the local women begin to grow annoyed at the idea, finding the men’s raucous chat offensive, and Raymond worries that it’s not really a fitting tribute to Shona. But Scott refuses to back down. The class goes ahead with Scott leading the naked model out in front of a packed crowd of Shieldinchers. There are gasps aplently when the model is revealed to be a very attractive, big-shouldered, firm-buttocked man! The women swoon while some of the men don’t know where to look. But with Scott’s encouragement everyone has a go at drawing, with Jimmy in particular showing he has a real talent. The class turns out to be a great success, and a pleased Scott announces his plans to have more events in the future.
