It's the day Amber and Lee are planning to leave Shieldinch and move to France but Amber's friends are increasingly worried about her well-being. They decide to stage an intervention. Jo and the community hatch a plan to keep Amber and Lee separate while they talk sense into her. But it goes awry when their genuine attempts to make Amber see Lee is no good for her come across as being patronising and bullying and Amber turns on them all - holding up a mirror to their behaviour. It seems their plan has failed - Lee and Amber head for a cab before departing for France. Meanwhile Gina has convinced Jo that she ought to stay in Shieldinch with her family where she is loved and missed. Jo immediately puts this plan into action by suggesting investing in Fraser's business but after Heather calls, demanding she come back to Oz, Jo reluctantly starts packing her bags. Jo finally reveals to Fraser why she left Australia in the first place. Heather has been defrauding customers and the police were onto them. Heather paid Jo to leave the country as she was the key witness, and if Jo wasn't there to give a statement to the police, Heather would escape justice. But the police and Heather have been on Joanne's trail so now it's time to do Heather's bidding and return. Fraser tries to convince Jo to stay and just when it looks like it might work, Gina walks in on them together in the hotel bedroom and jumps to conclusions. Gina is furious at Jo, claiming that she is completely lacking in moral fibre. For fear of making matters worse, Jo keeps quiet about Australia and prepares to leave without saying goodbye. As Jo and Romeo make their way out of Shieldinch, Jo spots Amber and has one last go at convincing her not to leave with Lee. Jo tells Amber she wishes that she had people who cared as much about her as Amber obviously has. She left town and feels alone, and her family is obviously disappointed in her. But as long as Amber is sure she's leaving for the right reasons - then good luck to her. Her words leave Amber questioning the reasons for leaving with Lee - is she doing it for him or for her? Does he really have her best interests at heart? When Lee exhibits some of the controlling and sinister behaviour Jo and her friends have hinted at, Amber sees clearly at last. She loves him but he's no good for her. Amber turns her back on Lee. Lee is devastated but can't change her mind and slips off out of town. Amber is taken in by Malcolm and Liz to lick her wounds. Jo then takes inspiration from the strength Amber has demonstrated and decides she needs to prove her mum wrong. She does have moral fibre and she's going to prove it. She's going back to Oz to give the police a statement against Heather - she's going to do the right thing. Elsewhere, Ruth and Andy are back from their honeymoon and are dismayed to find Iona has no plans to move out of their flat. Subtle attempts at getting rid of her fail and Ruth ends up kicking her out on her ear. Andy tries to diffuse the situation by hinting that Ruth might be a little insecure sharing a flat with such a sexy woman. Iona swallows this line - naturally, what else could it be..? Big Bob offers her a place at his but Raymond sweeps in - Jen is off on an exchange next week, so there'll be a spare room at the student's house. Iona ends up moving in with Charlie and Big Bob is gutted.
