A business acquaintance of Lydia's calls wanting to set up a business meeting with her. Hector Cunningham is a fashion designer and has a substantial reputation in the clothing industry so Amber is immediately interested in establishing a relationship with him. She convinces a wary Hector to meet her at the house but makes a fool of herself by being overly enthusiastic. Lee watches Amber flirting with Hector from the sidelines and isn't happy. Amber gives Hector the big sell - he offers her an internship in London. Oblivious to Lee's jealousy Amber tells him that she is off to meet Hector for lunch. Lee snaps at her and Amber storms into the stock room, slamming the door and accidentally locking herself in. She asks Lee to let her out but, even though the keys are on the worktop, he pretends Jen has them. Desperate not to miss out on the opportunity with Hector, Amber begs Lee to go in her place. When Lee meets with Hector he tells Hector to stay away from her. The pair almost come to blows but Charlie steps in and Hector to storm off. Lee subsequently pours his heart out to a sympathetic Charlie. Later Lee frames Jen for what happened to Amber by dropping the store cupboard keys into her bag and making her feel responsible for Amber's embarrassment. Lee releases Amber from the cupboard and they fight over what happened with Hector. Amber storms off, and she calls Hector and invites him round. Meanwhile, Lee pours his heart out to Charlie. Hector arrives at the Murdoch's and he and Amber chat. Lee lets himself into the house and listens in to their conversation. Hector comes onto Amber, but she tries to push him off. Lee interrupts, bursts in and throws Hector out. Amber is humiliated, and she's very grateful to Lee for saving her. She tells him Lee he's all she needs... With Iona taking Eilidh to nursery Ruth and Andy seize the opportunity to go back to bed making a happy Andy late for work. Later Andy's mum turns up at Ruth's demanding to see Andy urgently. Ruth is put out at Sheila's overt rudeness and they end up in a slanging match. A raging Ruth ends up throwing Sheila out. Iona points out to Ruth that she doesn't want to come between Andy and his mother. Ruth's convinced to give Sheila another chance - so she invites her to dinner. Ruth then spends the afternoon scrubbing the flat and getting herself ready while Iona brings round some ready meals from the deli. Things become immediately awkward with Shiela's arrival as it's obvious that she hates Ruth and wants her out of Andy's life. As if things weren't bad enough for Ruth, a drunken Deek arrives and joins them for dinner. Deek embarrasses Ruth in front of Sheila by announcing to the room the fact they are all eating ready meals. Iona ushers Deek out the door while Ruth and Sheila argue over Andy. Just at that moment Andy comes home and Sheila begs him to go back to Gabriella. Andy refuses and declares he would rather be married to Ruth. A shocked Ruth asks if that was a proposal and Andy happily says yes. A tired Bob is noisily clearing the living room which wakes a hungover Deek. Bob tries to tell Deek that he's been partying too much but Deek tells him he doesn't have a problem - in fact he's not drinking today at all. Instead he's going to spend time with his friends - only it turns out that he's doesn't have as many friends as he thought he had and even a busy Bob rebuffs Deek. Later in the Deli Iona asks Deek to tea and he accepts. He ends up at The Ship where Raymond reveals that he is going to be a dad again. Suddenly feeling very isolated, Deek buys a celebratory bottle of champers that he ends up drinking himself. Eileen tries to give a now drunk Deek some advice but succeeds in only making things worse. Desperate to get away from Eileen, Deek leaves and heads off to Ruth and Iona's before ending up back at the flat. A horrified Bob tries to get Deek to stop drinking but Deek is on a mission and refuses to listen. Their argument escalates and Deek throws Bob out of the flat.
