The Met season continues with Verdi's ever-popular La Traviata. The consumptive courtesan Violetta renounces her life of parties to settle down with the devoted Alfredo. But when Alfredo's father asks her to give Alfredo up for the sake of his family's reputation, she agrees to this terrible sacrifice. By the time Alfredo finds out the truth, it's too late for them.
