Series revealing the stories behind iconic artefacts from the Indian subcontinent. One of the great masterpieces of Mughal art, the 16th century Hamzanama paintings took 15 years to complete and were commissioned by Akbar, 13-year-old boy who was to become one of the greatest rulers in history. Of the original 1,400 paintings, just a precious few remain to demonstrate the extraordinary skills of the Iranian and Indian painters who created them.
