Joining Marc tonight are Scottish Indie legends the Pastels. All the way from Glasgow the Pastels were meant to be with us in January but a few feet of snow got in the way. Although forever linked with the ramshackle 80s indie pop of the C86 scene the Pastels have been going strong now for over two decades. After early singles on such legendary indie labels as Rough Trade and Creation the band's debut album Up For A Bit With The Pastels came out in 1987. Since then they've influenced several generations of local and not so local musicians. In the Twenty first century they've provided the music for both the film "The Last Great Wilderness" and a theatre production by Glasgow based company, 12 Stars. Last year the Pastels collaborated with Tokyo-based group, The Tenniscoats, on the album "Two Sunsets". The Pastels also run their own Geographic Music imprint, releasing music by the likes of International Airport, Future Pilot AKA, and The Royal We.
