The preparation and planning of Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman's famous motorbike journey. Charley and Ewan try to find out why motorcycle company KTM have withdrawn their support, while BMW step in to offer their bikes. Ewan talks about leaving his family and Charley's wife and children offer their views on the adventure. The day before departure cameraman Claudio fails his bike test, and the Russian visas have still not arrived.
