Jazz Line-Up - Julian Joseph

Julian Joseph presents the programme with gig news refelecting the vibrant UK jazz scene and the latest mix of new releases. Featuring an interview with double bassist Michael Janisch, a prominent new exponent of electric and acoustic bass. An alumnus of Boston's Berklee College of Music, he has studied privately and institutionally with some of the world's top bassists, including Ray Brown, Christian McBride, Abraham Laboriel, Bertrum Turetzsky and Dave Santoro. Still in his twenties, Michael has had the honour of being awarded the 2008 Young Jazz Musician of the Year Award, and he is a professor of acoustic jazz bass at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
