Fusion guitarist John McLaughlin joins Alyn Shipton to look back at the early part of his career in Britain, leading up to his celebrated album Extrapolation, and recounting the chain of events that led to him going to New York to play with Miles Davis and in The Tony Williams Lifetime. He follows this through to the birth of the Mahavishnu Orchestra.
