Gardening magazine. Toby Buckland is focusing on the high impact, low maintenance plants of the American prairie-style border at Greenacre. Having grown some ornamental grasses from seed, he plants these out and then shows how to take cuttings and divide up established plants to complete the prairie palette. Alys Fowler plants the glorious, blousy peony and adds some luscious foliage to the cutting garden. She also recommends some easy plants to grow from seed which will be ready for summer posies within weeks. In her garden at Glebe Cottage, Carol Klein is taking a look at the borage family. From medicinal herbs like borage to the shady ground cover of the lungwort, it's the leaves of this family that make it both useful and beautiful. As well as all that, in his family garden Toby plants sweetcorn and, guaranteed to keep both little and big kids happy, has tips on how to grow popcorn. Plus the cherry blossom is celebrated during a visit to Alnwick Castle in Northumberland.
