Lord Foster reflects on his childhood in Manchester, the importance and influence of flight and flying on his designs, and his need always to have a pencil and paper close to hand. John visits three of Lord Foster's most prominent recent designs, and architecture writer Hugh Pearman assesses Foster's career of more than four decades.
