It was also a memorable season for his team Brawn, who won the constructors' title in their debut year. There was plenty of drama off the track, from Lewis Hamilton being found guilty of misleading the stewards in Australia to the Renault 'crashgate' scandal and the breakaway threats by the teams, which for a time raised questions about the whole future of the sport.
