Downcast after receiving a letter from Jean, Stacey reluctantly agrees to a night out with Danielle, providing they make enough money on the stall. With trade flagging, Danielle secretly puts her own money into the takings to ensure they go. At R&R, Danielle’s mortified to see Paul, who makes a beeline for Stacey. Stacey berates him for his treatment of Danielle, before blurting out about the abortion. Angered that Stacey was speaking to Paul, Danielle runs off. Stacey goes to Bradley’s, but leaves on finding Sydney there. Paul finds Stacey in the Square and they talk. As Danielle leaves the house in search of Stacey she’s horrified to see Paul and Stacey kissing. Janine presses an unwilling Billy for dirt on Peggy in order to expose her as a hypocrite. She sneaks upstairs at the Vic to snoop but is caught by a suspicious Archie. Janine gets Billy on-side when he’s upset at the Gazette article in which Peggy appears to use Janet’s disability for votes. Billy steals Peggy’s address book for Janine. Archie sees that it’s missing. Aunt Sal arrives to meet Janine, who feigns interest in Peggy in the hope of wheedling out information. Jack laments his lack of involvement in Penny’s life. Dot urges him to attend Selina’s wedding for his daughter’s sake. Ian bemoans Jane’s friendship with Tanya, citing Tanya as a bad influence. He forbids Jane from seeing her, reminding her that there’s a function to attend later. Tanya dares Jane to defy Ian. Jane pretends to be sick and Ian goes alone to the catering dinner. Jane and Tanya are turned away from R&R for being too drunk. On his way home, Ian sees the two inebriated girls and, outraged, he tells Jane she’s grounded. Charlie’s concerned at not having heard from Brenda. He invites her for dinner.
