Tonight's programme comes from Music Row in Nashville on the day of the 8th Americana Music Association Awards. The ceremony, which includes awards for artist, album and song of the year, takes place later tonight at the legendary Ryman Auditorium in downtown Nashville. Nominees this year include Raul Malo, The Flatlanders, Rodney Crowell and Alejandro Escovedo, and performances include folkabilly queen Nanci Griffith and Western swing legends Asleep at the Wheel. In this preview, Bob Harris is joined in the studio by the country singer-songwriter Elizabeth Cook, whose song Sometimes It Takes Balls To Be A Woman was nominated in the best song category in 2007, and who hosts her own radio show for satellite radio station Outlaw Country. With Elizabeth and other guests, Bob reflects on the current Americana music scene, and plays tracks from this year's nominees and featured artists.
